PlayStation Plus May 2022 Games: Worth Playing or Not?

The PlayStation Plus free games for May has been officially announced. Following a fantastic month in April, the new lineup provides a lot of players a wonderful value and experience. Here’s what you’ll get in May if you’re a subscriber.

FIFA 2022

Even if you have lived under a rock for the last couple of years, you would’ve still heard about FIFA. Coming as a surprise however, we are going to see the latest instalment in the series up for grabs for subscribers of PlayStation Plus. While FIFA 22 may not appeal to every player, it is an obviously good deal this month.

EA have been slammed for years for their practices and the last game in the FIFA series is no different. However, it is undeniable that a vast majority of PS Plus subscribers are sports games players, and as such, this offer is definitely a popular one. The game will be available both for PS4 and PS5.

Tribes of Midgard

PlayStation Plus games lineup keeps the multiplayer game streak going. In May, subscribers will receive the excellent Tribes of Midgard for both PS4 and PS5 owners. It is a multiplayer focused ARPG game that pits the players with surviving in the unforgiving lands of Midgard. Protecting the Seed of Yggdrasil, players need to manage resources, build fortifications and fight enemies and giants.

It is a great experience for lovers of Norse Mythology and co-op games, and we highly recommend it if you have a large squad of friends. However, the game lacks in content, as the gameplay loop gets quite repetitive after a while. Being in its second season – Serpent Saga, the game features quite a few improvements from launch, yet it still is rather lacking in the modes department. Nevertheless, it is also a great game which many players will find interesting, and we kindly recommend it to whomever is interested in this type of games.

Curse of the Dead Gods

Roguelike lovers rejoice, you have yet another game to sink in May. Curse of the Dead Gods is an isometric, hack-n-slash roguelike game. The players will be tasked with journeying through an infinite set of dungeons, fighting fierce enemies and evading deadly traps. Seemingly a very similar game to the spectacular Hades, Curse of the Dead Gods offers new mechanics and interesting aspects that will get you hooked.

While our experience with the game is very limited, as we didn’t review it when it launched, it is presented as a very interesting take on the roguelike genre. Whether you want to dig in, or want another game that will take your time, it seems that Curse of the Dead Gods is a great choice for you. The game will only be available for PS4 owners.

FIFA 22, Tribes of Midgard, and Curse of the Dead Gods will be available to download from May 3.

Verdict: A phenomenal month lead by a highly-popular title like FIFA 22, and good co-op and roguelike experiences.
